“Think good thoughts… as we think, so we are. Both here and hereafter, in all the worlds. For thoughts are things, the parents of all actions, good and bad alike. And as the sowing has been, so the harvest will be”.
From Kim Stanley Robinson’s, “The years of rice and salt“, 2002.

When I read this extract about creation, I was reminded of another quote by Leonardo da Vinci (and then had to go and look it up to be sure I had the phrasing correctly): “Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen.” I think that this applies not only to creative work, but also to anything that troubles you during the day (or night).
