I love to collect quotes, ideas and thoughts and I have done this ever since I can remember. When growing up, they can shape our character and choices just as much as the guidance of adults around us.
Today, I would like to share with you this quote from a little book I stumbled upon recently called “The Littlest Christmas Tree” by Janie Janis.
When we are very young, or when we find ourselves in hard situations, it can be very hard to accept where we are at, especially if we don’t like it very much. Our attitudes and perspective might be the only things we can change and the following quote captures this so beautifully:
But today I can only grow and become my very best right here where I am planted. I will feel the Sun and the Sky and the Wind and the Rain and I will think about how wonderful it is to grow…just for today.
“The Littlest Christmas Tree: A Tale of Growing and Becoming”, Janie Jasin, illustrated by Pam Kurtz, 1996. Book Peddlers, Minnetonka, MN.
